All is not Black and white

In Childhood beautiful stories we hear
They build our hopes ,shape our fears
Sculpting our sense of Wrong and Right
Then the Gray Reality hits us between Black and White

A dictator talked about his Race
Some adored him for others he was a nut case
"Forces of freedom" vanquished him with their Slave army
Of course the defeated never survive to write history
Not as clear as day and night
All is not Black and White

Lies a million times rings true
Power a prerogative of the selected few
Depends whose voice gets heard
who gets praised and who gets jeered
one man's hero another's terrorist
Doesnt take much for a man to turn to a beast
depends on whose side you fight
All is not Black and White

Patriotism drives us to die for the nation
Forget our blood, our relations
For the egotist ruler's perverted constructions
Some for oil some for weapons of mass destruction
Passions blind the reason's sight
All is not Black and White

Remembering the "dark" chapters of History
Black was slave and white was free
Now they say "everything has been redeemed"
"Chosen a Black to lead our side
But we did not see the color of his hide"
What was once demeaning is now dignified
Because my friend,All is not Black and White
